Tape Primer
The primer consists of a mixture of butyl rubber and synthetic compound and a Solvent-gasoline. The primer is applied to the appropriately prepared pipe surface before application of inner layer tape. The function of primer is to provide a bonding medium between the pipe surface and the inner layer tape.
Primer must be fully compatible with 3-ply tape below.
1.1 Hand-applied primer:
pipe surface application temperature: - 10°C up to + 65°C
pipe operating temperature: - 60°C up to + 75°C
flashpoint: app. -14°C
consumption: app. 0,2 litre/m2
1.2 Machine applied primer: (also for hand-application)
